Tax Senior, Warrington, £40,000 - £55,000 DOE

This is an opportunity to work closely with a firm's Tax Director, managing your own portfolio of personal, trust and corporate tax clients including HNWIs, partners and directors. You'll take on genuine responsibility from day one, with exposure to adhoc advisory work alongside your compliance caseload.

This role is ideal for a Tax Senior who:

• Is CTA qualified or QBE, with a solid personal and corporate tax background
• Able to manage a client portfolio autonomously, with minimal supervision or review points
• Looking to work with a small, close-knit team, rather than a large, corporate environment

Tax Senior – About the Firm

This is a well-established, niche private client accountancy practice based in Warrington, with more than fifty years' experience supporting individuals, families and businesses with their tax and financial affairs. It's a director-led firm where you'll work closely with senior colleagues rather than being one of many in a large department, and the office is a short walk from Warrington's two main train stations. This role has arisen as the tax team looks to add further capacity to support its growing portfolio of personal, trust and corporate clients.

Tax Senior – Responsibilities

Personal & Trust Tax

• Complete UK and Jersey personal tax returns for a portfolio including HNWIs, partners, directors and the self-employed
• Prepare trust returns and manage related compliance

Corporate Tax

• Complete corporation tax returns for UK and Jersey resident companies
• Prepare P11Ds and ATED returns, and manage the firm's MTD for Income Tax obligations

Client & Advisory

• Handle client and HMRC queries directly and professionally
• Assist with advisory work alongside your compliance caseload

Portfolio & Team

• Manage your own WIP and raise fee notes for your portfolio
• Liaise with other departments and support colleagues as needed

Tax Senior – Requirements

• CTA qualified or QBE, with strong personal tax and trust knowledge
• Experience with Taxcalc and/or Xero an advantage
• Proactive approach to managing and developing client relationships
• Adaptable, organised, and confident working independently
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Willing to support other departments when needed
