A well-established, family-run firm of chartered accountants in Warrington is looking for a Semi Senior to join its close-knit accounts team, working directly alongside experienced directors on a varied, high-net-worth client base.

It's a genuinely hands-on role — you'll get involved from bank analysis right through to draft accounts — with study costs funded in full, whether you're continuing towards ACA or ACCA.

Semi Senior Accountant (ACA/ACCA Study Support) – This Role Is Ideal For a Semi Senior Who:

• Has around at least 4 years general practice experience already (this isn't a first job in accountancy) and is studying, or about to start studying, towards ACA or ACCA
• Wants genuine breadth — handling a client's accounts from source records through to completion — rather than one narrow slice of a bigger process

Semi Senior Accountant (ACA/ACCA Study Support) – Responsibilities

Accounts Preparation & Compliance

• Get involved in the full process of preparing financial statements for limited companies (FRS102 1A/FRS105), sole traders and partnerships — from bank and portfolio analysis through to draft accounts
• Assist with quarterly loan interest calculations, and the preparation and submission of VAT returns
• Support with Companies House filings and related statutory work
• Exposure to trust accounts as you progress — full training and support given

Client Exposure

• Respond to client queries under guidance, building confidence working with a loyal, largely HNW client base
• Get involved in client meetings (occasionally taking minutes) with opportunities to travel to clients across the North West, North Wales, Shropshire and Derbyshire

Development & Support

• Assist the directors with ad hoc work, such as preparing documentation for client finance applications
• Help prepare cashflows and budgets, and learn the firm's AML processes for new and existing clients
• Work closely with experienced directors who will teach the reasoning behind the numbers, not just the software steps

Semi Senior Accountant (ACA/ACCA Study Support) – Requirements

• At least 4 years general practice experience
• Studying, or about to start studying, towards ACA or ACCA
• Comfortable getting involved in accounts preparation from source records through to draft accounts
• Full UK driving licence and access to a car, for occasional travel to client sites
• Confident communicating with clients, and keen to build on that with support from the team
• Looking for a firm to settle into and build a long-term career with

Semi Senior Accountant (ACA/ACCA Study Support) – Benefits

Salary: £30,000 – £35,000, depending on experience and study stage
